Lagos - Half of a Yellow Sun broke Box Office records in its first three days of showing with Lagos cinemas topping the charts amongst the 15 cinemas in Nigeria where the film was screened, reports Radar

Half of a Yellow Sun topped Marvel Studio’s Guardian of Galaxyin Nigerian film houses across the country.
Distributors of the film said that because Half Of A Yellow Sun was well done, Nigerian audiences would respond to it and drive its success.
The movie, featuring BAFTA award winner and Oscar nominee Chiwetel Ejiofor, BAFTA award winner Thandie Newton, Nollywood stars Onyeka Onwenu, Genevieve Nnaji, O.C. Ukeje, and Zack Orji.

The film is an adaptation of Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s award-winning international best-seller, and is written and directed by Biyi Bandele.

Half of a Yellow Sun has been classified as ‘18’ by the country’s censor board delayed its release to cinemas. The movie opened on 1st August.
