Lagos - Popular music channel, MTV Base has responded to the raging controversy over the Top 20 Best Ever Naija Tracks which they had earlier released, reports NIgerian Entertainment Today(NET)
In a statement, Alex Okosi, Senior Vice President & Managing Director, Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) Africa, said that MTV Base welcomes the heated debate sparked by the list.

He announced that they will be filming a special MTV Base Nigerian music roundtable in Lagos on this topic, featuring artistes, DJs and music industry experts which will be showing in November, as part of a build up to the 10th birthday celebrations of MTV Base.
Alex also revealed that the list, featuring notable artistes and songs were determined by viewers who were voting their favourite musicians from when MTV Base started on 22 February, 2005 till present day
The list, which was aired on October 1 to celebrate Nigeria’s Independence Day,and MTVBase’s 10th anniversary led to a lot of online criticisms at MTV Base who published it.
The list has been criticised by fans, music critics and musicians, like Eedris Abdulkareem, Iyanya, Chidi Mokeme, Charles Novia and DJ Abass.
