Lagos - The late Nigerian novelist, Prof. Chinua Achebe, has earned high praise from United States President, Barack Obama, and his wife, Michelle.
The couple described Achebe as a “Revolutionary author, educator, and cultural ambassador” in a letter addressed to his family, Vanguard reports.
The letter was read out by a White House representative at a recent event celebrating the life of the author.
“With a dream of taking on misperceptions of his homeland, he gave voice to perspectives that cultivated understanding and drew our world closer together,” a part of the letter read.
