Lagos - The director of the award-winning Mirror Boy and Last Flight To Abuja, Obi Emelonye, will release the first Igbo film in Nigerian cinemas on November 22.
The movie titled Onye Ozi is a ‘psychological comedy’ about Metumaribe (Okey Bakassi) who goes to London from Nigeria to marry Mkpurunma (Ngozi Thompson Igwebike), a lady with two kids.
Metu, who hopes to hit it big in London, gets entangled in the spiritual world as he becomes a medium between the living and the dead.
Onye Ozi premiered in London on October 18 and has been watched in 60 countries. The Nigerian and the white cast all spoke Igbo.
