Lagos - Musicians in Lagos will be issued biometric cards in the coming days by the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN), reports Nigerian Entertainment Today(NET)
The unveiling by PMAN’s interim executives recently unveiled was also used to mark the first 100 days in office for the Pretty Okafor led organization.
According to Okafor, the scheme is informed by the need to close the yawning gap between creativity and development in Nigeria-music as a development challenge.
He said that the billions generated by the music industry end up predominantly in the coffers of foreign and Nigerian pirates.
He said that it is disheartening for a country to have no standard or world-class record label.
