Port Harcourt - The activites for the world book capital project will begin on April 23, according to the organizers, reports Premium Times.
The opening ceremony will take place on the UN World Book and Copyright Day, in which Bangkok will hand over to Port Harcourt.
Port Harcourt was honoured as the 2014b World Book Capital is a title bestowed by UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) in recognition of its promotion of books and reading and the dedication of all players in the Nigerian book industry.
World Book Capital lasts for one year, starting from the World Book and Copyright Day (April 23) until April 22 of the following year.
