Abuja - Singer and Director of Women Affairs, Onyeka Onwenu, is seeking more protection for women, claiming that the Nigerian constitution does not protect women, reports DailyPost
Onwenu, who was recently allegedly accused of assault by an Abuja-based business woman, also spoke on the need for the government and society to rise against all forms of crimes against women.
Addressing journalist in Abuja, the director complained about the increase in rape and domestic violence.
She insisted that any crime against a woman is a crime against the family and urged lawmakers to take it seriously and protect Nigerian women.
