It is not the first thing the 22-year-old singer has got to remind himself of his loyal supporters.

Earlier this year, Sam posted a snap of a necklace, which was in the shape of an anchor with two swallows above it, which he says he bought so he could always have his fans with him.

I just got this. So you'll always be with me little sailors x

Since showing off his new tattoo, the Stay With Me singer has been forced to cancel the rest of his Australian tour after suffering a hemorrhage on his vocal chords.

In a statement made on his Instagram account on Tuesday, Sam said: "I have been vocally exhausted for a while now... The doctors have told me I need to fully rest until my vocal chords have healed."
