Lagos - Titilope Alade-Bamgbala, Chief Executive Officer of Happyboys Entertainment on Friday said the movie industry could boost the economy by 30 per cent, if it was properly exploited.
Alade-Bamgbala said in Lagos that the industry had huge potential to sustain the economy if the government could give it the needed attention.
"We have bunch of talented and skillful individuals who are naturally endowed and can earn foreign currency if they had an enabling environment." he said
He said that government should create an enabling environment, through which they could exploit the potential in the various sectors of the entertainment industry.
"Music, arts, comedy and of course Nollywood are some of the sectors that should be in full consideration of government and stakeholder,” he added
The entertainment impresario stressed that the significance of the entertainment industry could not be over-emphasised.
"Even UNESCO has set a day aside to recognise the contribution of the entertainment industry and its significance in the society and world economy," he stressed.
He noted that the day was a day to celebrate the wealth of our various cultures and to dissolve the boundaries that divided us.
