‘We are gay, we are staying’

24 March 2015, 15:09

Lagos – Kehinde Bademosi,  HIV positive brands expert who recently came out as gay has said that Nigerian gays have come to stay.

He made this declaration in a recent Facebook update on Tuesday.

“People freak out when your status update contains something gay. They be like 'this guy is overdoing this gay shit.' NO, there's nothing like gay shit but a lot of stuff like intolerance shit.

“We are overtly surrounded and inundated by heteronormative shit all our lives that most gay kids demonize themselves for being wired differently. Call us names. Bind us. Cast us out like demons. Or simply embrace the diversity. We are here to stay. ?#‎Live? ?#‎Proudly?” he posted.

He is one of the few gay people in the country who have come out of the closet, others include author  Jude Dibia and motivational speaker Bisi Alimi
