Lagos - Actress and embattled President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Ibinabo Fiberesima was sentenced to 5 years in jail by the Court of Appeal in Lagos, and her first son Sean Liam Coughlan has asked Nigerians to pray for her.
Sean, the first son of Ibinabo Fiberesima, and wrote an emotional open letter to Nigerians to explain her psychological state since the court judgement.
He said he was heartbroken over statements that his mother feels like she is above the law, and that she deserves to be punished for killing another person’s child.

He said that Ibinabo Fiberesima had been carrying around the trauma for the past 11 years, adding that his mother was just unlucky, while denying that she was driving drunk.
Actress Ibinabo Fiberesima’s five year jail term was upheld at the Court of Appeal in Lagos on Friday. Justice Jamilu Yammama Tukur delivered the decision saying that the appeal was shallow and lacked merit.
She (Ibinabo) was alleged to have collided with the car of a staff of Lagos State hospital, Giwa Suraj as a result of reckless driving on the Lekki-Epe Expressway in February, 2006.
