Lagos - Afro-soul singer, Aramide has denied claims that she copied Rihanna in her song, ‘Funmi lowo'.
According to the singer, the song, which reportedly bore a similarity to Rihanna's ‘Bitch better have my money’ track was all her idea.
She stated this in a recent interview with Punch
"To set the records straight, I did not get the concept of my song, ‘Funmi lowo,’ from Rihanna’s ‘Bitch Better Have my Money. I think the reason people may think so is because of my chorus. I released the song because I have noticed that it is easy for people to relate with a song they have heard before.” She said.
"I put the song out and it worked." She added.
The singer ventured into music in 2006 following her participation in the Nigeria Breweries sponsored talent hunt program, "Star Quest".
She is currently signed to Baseline Records after penning a deal with the music label on September 9, 2014.
