Lagos -Just days after Nollywood lost one of the veterans in the industry, Martins Njubuigbo, popularly known as elder Maya, another veteran actor is on the verge of death.
Tunde Alabi, a Nollywood actor who featured in the TV series the Village Headmaster, is critically ill at Lagos General Hospital, with one of his legs set for amputation in order to save his life.
Alabi, who is currently dependent on his colleagues for survival, has no home, money or close help according to Vanguard.
The veteran actor has been battling diabetes for years with no treatment because of lack of money.
All efforts to seek for help from different quarters have proved abortive.
He has been admitted for days and now needs help from the public to carry out his surgery.
He is on the verge of been evicted from the hospital because he can no longer sustain his continuous stay there.
One of his colleagues Paul Julius who spoke about his failing health said the actor might lose his right leg if help does not come his way fast. Julius said Alabi has been having a long battle with diabetes but could not seek proper medical help because he has no money.
