Weddings are beautiful occasions filled with joy and love and tedious dances between the bride and/or groom and their parents.
They’re usually rather soppy and while all the guests sit there and smile as they hear Celine Dion’s Because You Loved Me for the millionth time, they are dying slowly on the inside while the groom and his mom slow dance through four and a half minutes of pure hell.
But not these dances!
Watch her whip. Now watch her nae nae.
This one starts out all sweet with Boys II Men’s Momma and the groom seems to be wiping tears from his eyes. Then things get all modern with Kanye’s Hey Momma, but then they break it down to Silento’s Watch Me Whip/ Watch Me Nae Nae and then Teach Me How To Doogie. And check the bride in the background dancing along. It’s so awesome!
This is unforgettable, all right.
This one is just so adorable. This mom and her son start off with Nat King Cole and Natalie Cole’s Unforgettable, when it seems that the DJ has made a bit of a boo boo, and then the fun starts with Jackson 5’s I Want You Back and they really let loose.
Jump on it!
This mom and her son start off dancing to possibly one of the most boring songs in the world (sorry, not sorry), The Perfect Fan by the Backstreet Boys and you’ll nearly fall asleep (in which case, feel free to skip ahead to around 1:20), but then a little Elvis starts playing and they both start shaking what their mommas gave ‘em.
Thrift Shop Bollywood style
This mom and her son get down to Macklemore’s Thrift Shop and mix up some classic Bollywood moves with a little hip hop and they work surprisingly well.
This mom is on FIRE!
I have a personal hatred of Alicia Key’s Girl On Fire due to it being SO overplayed when it was first released and my friends constantly singing it. But this video might just make me love it. This mom and her son get down to various hits and do it oh so well. Plus, their comic timing is on point.
This one is a mother and daughter dance, but it’s so epic it just had to go on this list. You get a little teary when the Spice Girls’ Momma (or is that just me?) starts to play and the bride and her mom begin to dance, but then it all gets changed up when the beat changes up. Also, a mom and daughter doing the booty bounce to Crazy In Love? BEST.
