Abuja – As it turns out, looking at a bunch of surgically altered vaginas could warp your mind into thinking that is the norm.
A recent study divided women into three groups: One group looked at pictures of surgically altered vaginas, one looked at unaltered lady bits and the last group didn’t get to see any action.
The authors found that women who saw the altered vaginas were more likely to rate them as “normal” compared to the ladies who only saw the natural bits.
This presented the study’s authors with an interesting and somewhat disturbing finding that exposure to images of “ideal” vaginas could normalise them.
The authors also said it could be a possible reason why labiaplasty has become such a popular cosmetic procedure.
That procedure is done to reduce the size of a woman’s labia to make them more symmetrical.
The Study was published in BJOG: An International Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
