Teachers have to know how to keep a rowdy class under control. A teacher in Belgium came up with a brilliant solution for keeping a classroom of noisy teens quiet: he threatened to reveal the names of all the characters that die in the next season of TV show Game of Thrones, according to the Mirror.
Abuja - Threats of detention didn’t work, so he opted to get them where it hurts. Apparently he began writing the names on the class blackboard of the characters that get killed off in Game of Thrones Season 4, the as-yet unreleased installment of the thrilling (and bloodthirsty) series.
A kid in the class said that the teacher asked how many of them are watching the series, and three quarters of the class put up their hands.
You didn’t read the books, did you?
Here’s the kicker- the TV series is based on a series of novels which the teacher had already read. So he simply had to threaten to write down the name of the next person to die every time the classroom got too noisy. He said that he knew all the characters and how they would die and at what point.
According to the classroom legend, a deathly silence fell across the room.
Don’t mess with our series!
You have to admit, this cunning method of classroom control should definitely catch on. Unless the kids all decide to pre-empt the teacher by checking the books out of the school library.
The legend has already been shared across many platforms, but very little is being said about the content of the Game of Thrones series. As is obvious by the teacher’s “death threat”, violent death is one of the more common themes of the series. There’s also some fairly explicit sex, nudity, incest and so on. The books and TV series have been given various recommended age limits in different countries, ranging from 15 to 18.
