A dry spell

03 October 2016, 08:29

Sometimes we feel sexy, excited, and aware of our bodies and other people’s. But it’s also natural to occasionally be less turned on and opt for a quiet night in front of the TV. The urge to have sex isn’t constant for most people.

Circumstances can lead to extended dry spells, and it can feel like you might never feel sexual again. This is common when you’re under extreme stress, if you’ve been ill, during pregnancy or when there’s a new baby in the house, and if there are other problems in the relationship.

In most cases, the dry spell will pass on its own. But if you feel you need to kick-start your sexual feelings again, start by getting back in touch with your body. Take a long, hot bath or shower, and wash every cm. Dress up in clothes that feel good on your skin and make you look your best. Massage oil or cream into your skin – guys too! – Or even better, get your partner to join in.

Listen to music that makes you feel like dancing, watch movies starring those sexy heartthrobs or pin-ups. Treat yourself well, by eating healthily and getting a good night’s sleep. And in no time, you will probably feel that libido revving up again.
