Irish women hilariously tweet their periods to protest abortion ban

Comedian and writer Grainne Maguire has set the dice in motion for Irish women to repeal the ban against abortion in the most unconventional and unusual way.

Another hashtag campaign, #repealthe8th, is setting new trends with women tweeting to the Irish Minister Enda Kenny about their period.

According to BBC.com, Maguire feels it is only fair for women to share such details with the state “since they care so much about Irish women’s reproductive organs “. So hilariously they are telling the state (specifically the Prime Minister) all about it.  

What followed Maguire’s unusual method of state repeal was humorous. Tweets include letting the Toaiseach know just what it’s like having your period as well as asking the state’s advice in the use of tampons. See for yourself:
