Tips on how to be the perfect husband

17 October 2016, 06:22S. Mbinya

The following tips will help you to love your wife better:

Appreciate her
Women like men who tell them how smart they are, how attractive her dress is and such like words. If you never hug your wife when she wears a new dress, or compliment her matching skill, then she will just grow dull. Learn to say thank you when she compliments you too. Be the first to note her new hairdo or a change in the furniture arrangement. Congratulate her for the small achievements she makes at home. Appreciate the time she spends making you happy and well fed. Did you tell her she is the most wonderful wife and that you are lucky she mothered your children? These are the small words that draw your heart closer to your wife’s.

Stop complaining
Women interpret complaints from men negatively. Do not let her feel as if you have only been finding the faults in her. Find better ways of passing your message across without hurting her emotions. Women have a fragile heart and so you need to choose your words wisely. Choose the most suitable context for correction of any mistakes you feel she is doing. Take her out and talk about it in a romantic manner. Learn the art of constructive criticism. Nevertheless, you do not need to say everything. If it does not affect the family, then leave it alone. Be sensitive to her emotions and mood, and avoid subjects that are likely to make her feel offended or hurt. Give her time to meditate and relax alone.

Respect her and yourself
The perfect husband respects his wife, and himself. Give your wife the freedom to free thought and decision making. Discuss issues together and come to a conclusion. Do not pressure her to give in to your egoistic needs. If she is not ready for a discussion, wait for a better day. Be the gentleman you were when you first met her. Go back to the moment you proposed to her and hold on to that gentleness. Protect her, but do not possess her. Be the man without being bossy. Remember, she is your other half and so everything you desire she too deserves. Respect your marriage and your vows, do not cheat on her. If she is growing old too fast, then you do not love her enough. Show her romance and never become too busy for her. Give her the attention she deserves and you will never look for a perfect woman outside your home. If you really wish to be the ever perfect husband for your wife, treat every day as your wedding day and every season as your honeymoon.
