Akwa Ibom 2015: Group endorses Akpabio, others

01 December 2014, 11:13 Jackson Udom

Akwa Ibom Progressives Forum (AKIPROF), a socio-political organization in the South West geo-political zone has endorsed the aspirations of the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Chief Godswill Akpabio, Obong Bassey Albert for Senate and Udom Emmanuel for governorship ticket of Akwa Ibom State.

The endorsement came at the national executive council and stakeholders meeting of the forum, held at its national secretariat in Ibadan, Oyo State on Wednesday .

The group lauded Chief Akpabio's score card, which it stated was "saturated with uncommon achievements, therefore the best way to contribute our quota to national development is to endorse and support him to go to the Senate in 2015."

The National President of the forum, Pastor Godspower Umanah stated that "Chief Godswill Akpabio is a man with a large heart, and has a flare for excellence  and “For being who he is, we have no doubt nor fear in sending the best to the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria."

The group also threw it weight behind the Senatorial ambition of the immediate past commissioner for Finance in the state, Obong Bassey Albert , because of his grassroots appeal and  closeness to the youth of Akwa Ibom State and the  tendency that he will give quality representation with conscience.

The group also endorsed  Mr. Udom Emmanuel,as successor to Governor Akpabio in 2015 and call on all lovers of peace and sustainable development to rally round the financial guru, because of his achievement and track records in the corporate world. "Emmanueul will surely build on the achievements of Chief Akpabio and sustain the giant strides which for some years now have been peculiar to the Akwa Ibom State".

AKIPROF as a socio political group is committed to the realization of good governance in Akwa Ibom State.
