He also lauded them for honoring their own, Chief Essien Ndueso in his life time, because of the quality representation he has given to his people at the National Assembly and the just concluded Confab. Udom, who spoke at the civic reception organized by the people of Ekid for Ndueso.  noted that “we are here to honour a man who has represented us well. We are here to say thank you for the work well done, to give him a pat on the back. adding, " Obong of Calabar has also sent a strong representation to honour our son.

In his response, Chief Ndueso Essien thanked the Ekid people for honouring him with the great reception. On the 2015 general elections, Chief Ndueso Essien insisted that it is right, equitable and just for power to rotate to Eket Senatorial District. He pointed out that history reveals that when power rotates in Akwa Ibom State, it goes first to the capital of the Senatorial districts. He said that when power started in Uyo Senatorial District, it went to Uyo Federal Constituency. When it shifted to Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District, it resided in Ikot Ekpene Federal Constituency. In 2015, he noted that it would be appropriate too for power to reside in Eket Federal Constituency.

Chief Ndueso Essien said Ekid people were lucky to have huge deposits of natural resources. He said it could only take a man who is an international financial manager and an investment expert to harness these resources to create wealth. Chief Ndueso Essien said it would be wrong for Ekid people to ignore the best material living amongst them to chase after aspirants from other districts who had taken their turns. He announced that the man with the best leadership qualities among the governorship aspirants is Mr Udom Emmanuel. He also admonished Ekid people to embrace peace and unity, noting that development can only thrive in an atmosphere of peace.
