Bomu, blessed community flowing with the biblical 'milk and honey' is apparently akin with the myth of Canaan. It is an indisputable fact that what is today known as the Country's (Live Wire) was discovered in Bomu in 1958 by Shell British Petroleum as it was known then.
It was in the light of the above epoch-making discovery how-ever, that significantly epitomized Bomu in the lime light of the most promising and famous Oil Field (Bomu Oil Field) which of course the meek of human kindness resulted to the unique immortalized nomenclature 'Bomu-Trunk-Line' that conveys crude oil to Bonny Terminal via the Trans Niger Pipeline. Subsequently, NITEL Linked Bonny with their cables through Bomu in the 90s.
Judging from the fore-going tips of the ice berg, the natural relationship between Bomu and Bonny from time immemorial is seemingly a Siamese twin and any attempt to carry out a surgical operation may either make nor mar them. This consequentially makes Bomu/Bonny inextricably compatible. The afore-mentioned signaled the notion of erst-while Bomu/Bonny road by the Federal Government as such, one is guided to assert that from the world go, the sudden Bodo/Bonny road was called, known and addressed as Bomu-Bonny road.
It was indeed an administrative bottle-neck and political monopoly by Government to intentionally diverted Bomu/Bonny road through Bodo to Bonny as against the initial prototype considering the exceptional viability of Bomu to this Nation.
This action and diversion from the actual choice location (Bomu-Bonny) road was driven by political nepotism in connivance with the then political administration prompted the people of Bomu rectitude reaction. Tanifo, Bethel Nyimabari Bomu Community, Rivers State.
