Courtesy visit to NOTAP by YiSHDA

Team YiSHDA, paid a courtesy visit to the Director General of National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP), Dr. Umar Buba Bindir.

The President/CEO of YiSHDA, Joseph Emmanuel Yaba said the visit is aimed at discussing issues about how YiSHDA can partner with NOTAP to advocate for things that can impact positively on young people's life in Nigeria especially in the areas of advancing Science and Technology. The visit also availed Team YiSHDA the opportunity to tell the Director General about her Success Stories/Challenges and upcoming program on the 2014 International Girls in ICT Day scheduled for May 26th-28th, 2014 Joseph said.

In his response, the Director General reiterated the need for Nigeria to incorporate Science and Technology from the grassroots as it will in turn provide employment and development when local materials are harnessed into technology. He also reiterated NOTAP’s commitment to its vision and mission through the in school approach of customizing educational stories for primary school pupils to expend their imaginative and innovative mindset.

Team YiSHDA also appointed the Director General, Dr. Umar Buba Bindir as a Member of her Advisory Board.

NOTAP is a parastatal under the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology.  Its vision is to move Nigeria from periphery to the dominant centre of global industrial power and making Nigeria a major global power house of the 21st century through an efficient Technology Acquisition strategy and Innovation.
