Do you have any Questions?

04 November 2014, 12:06

As we get through life, we all seem to have lots of questions with urgent need for answers. Questions we would not ask our parents and teachers. They have questions too-don't you think so? The more we seek answers to these questions, the more we realize that the aid of a higher being is needed. Some will say “this is the basis of religion”. Here is a story of a lady who was unable to get a spouse despite countless marriage proposals from suitors. She was beautiful and well-behaved hence, the question; why? Those men would try endlessly to gain her attention but immediately they hear her name, they start behaving funny and avoid her thereafter. She and her well-wishers sought answers to questions arising from her anomalous situation till she got in contact with Jesus through one of His followers and after a prayer of enquiry to Him, she discovered that she was named after her great grand-mother who was a sorceress and anytime she tells her name, she immediately transforms into a very old woman, in the sight of her suitor-who wants to marry such? Of course she wouldn’t have known how a name could have such mysterious impact in her life. Her parents and relatives can tell her that she was named after her great grandmother but cannot tell her why suitors react the way they do after hearing her name because such an information is beyond human reasoning. Unfortunately, ignorance is no excuse, as the Bible says in Hosea 4:6; my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Until she had an encounter with Jesus, the light of the world (John 8:12), the darkness in her life was not eradicated. As a matter of fact, the answer to her question was simple- change your name! But it was not simple to arrive at, as her lovely name was not even suspected in the first place. Friends, whatever seem to be controlling your life negatively, be it; addiction, sickness, shame, disgrace, satanic oppressions, retrogression, and so on, the bible tells us that they are not in God’s plan for you or me. He says in Jeremiah 29:11; For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

“Who is Jesus? “ You may be asking. Jesus is God's living word (John 1:1).All things were created through Him, and apart from Him not one thing was created that has been created.(John 1:3, compare Genesis 1:3) He is also known as God's only begotten son (John 3:16). God so loved us that He sent Him to the world to redeem us from our sins as that's the only way we can be free from eternal condemnation (John3:16-17). He died in your place because the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23). God raised Him from the dead and now, He is alive, with a name above every other name! (Philippians 2:8-10). Jesus loves you. He paid for your transgressions (Romans 5:8). He was condemned for your sins (Isaiah 53:5), Yes, He's willing to give you a new life if only you will let Him. He said “Come to Me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest"(Matthew 11:28). only you will let Him. He said “Come to Me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). My friend, There is no other way through which you can be saved except through Him (John 14:6, Act 4:12). A call to redemption Romans 10:9-10; 9. If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. I invite you to make Him your Lord and saviour by praying thus: Heavenly father, I come to you in the name of Jesus. I know I am a sinner; please forgive me. I believe in my heart that Jesus is the Son of God, Who died for my sins and rose again. I accept and confess Him as my Lord and saviour. Thank You for saving me! In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen. If you have prayed the prayer and meant it, you are now a child of God. Congratulations!
