Dying another death

06 October 2015, 19:10 Abdulkadir Abdullahi

They came more times than the eye bats its lid when they needed our votes. They came armed with sweet words and inflated promise. Now voted in, they became locust seen once in several seasons.

Infernal worms seems to have colonised their brains.they became two faced like a sharpened edge sword which murders in both ways.so when a man power tells you his tale, ask him to wait till you bring a sieve. They now pen millions out of government purse to quench their ravenous appetite.

They grew unnatural famine in the land. classifying citizens and displacing the weak and honest down the money tree.they forged unequal knifes, slashing the nations yam and leaving mere peelings for the masses.

Let no one tell us that all fingers are not equal because we all knew how the thumb grew fatter than the remaining digits(fingers) the nation's wealth built their mansions, bought their cars and irrigated their banks.

We are not bat blind to the glaring happenings of a bright day.we ask the tyrant, when will you stop your wrongdoings. he replies when their are fires in the land hot enough to melt their links.we have smelt passing years ,seasoning our dreams on hopes branches, sappy like a pawpaw in the rains tiptoes.

We stand on the edge of a hungry dawn, our outstretched hands reaching for the fruit s of a mellowing morrow. So let's make a furnace hot enough to melt their links because we will not die another death. Lets wake from sleep of stupor.

Even if we can't get our stolen wealth, must the shallow trick of their magical wand still put us in luminous poverty and economic barrenness. Therefore let no one mistake the slowness of the cat for a flash of fear because when it is pouncing time, the speed of its paw will surprise the preys impertinence.

Lets hold our strongest weapon which is our vote.
