RE: POOR COMPENSATION OF ABUJA ORIGINAL INHABITANTS OVER THE LAND ACQUIRED FOR CENTENARY CITY PROJECT IN BARUWA, KPAIKPAI, DAYISNA AND TOGE.
Above subject refers for urgent action. The above subject has duly come to our notice and we hereby officially state on behalf of the original Inhabitants in the affected communities (BARUWA with a population of 702 people paid N80, 467,925, KPAIKPAI with a population of 656 people paid N55, 551,641, TOGE with a population of 681 people paid N86, 614,069 and DAYISNA with a population of 1,015 people paid N96, 941,343. Putting these people together, you will have a total number of 3,054 persons from the 4 communities to be paid a total sum of N319, 574,978) by the Centenary City Project that we totally and duly reject the above stated compensation plan.
We have noticed that your compensation plan does not have human face and it is done in such a manner that does not portray the well being of the Original Inhabitants of the affected communities.
Sir, in order to forestall crisis, break down of laws and orders and sustain the wave of development going on. We hereby request the following:
1. That a special committee be set up to oversee the execution and proper implementation of compensation and Integration of the affected communities by the Centenary City Project.
2. That the Department of Resettlement and Compensation should make available the records of each famer’s economic trees, crops and land earlier captured by the surveyors and valuators for our verification.
Sir, we are sure you appreciate our corporation and understanding in the past. Accept the assurance of our continues support as you life bearable for our people.
