Since the inception of the strike, this has brought no progress. The FG made this agreement and feels they can not still meet up with it. In a country where people in power feel they can do whatever they wish to do knowing that they can bend the law of the country at any giving time.
ASUU on the other hand have had a strike which lasted up to six months or more in the past. This was one full session in an academic calendar year. After the strike most of the needs were met while some were promised to be fulfilled later on in due time.
School fees rised not like before, but this normally takes place after any strike, all this on the side of the students. Still no new things will be seen, does this means the FG did not meet up to any of the agreements?
During the period of the strikes, students are been found going into some wrong doings like fornication, prostitution, robbery, rape, trafficking, etc. While ASUU quietly receive their salaries without any work. FG receives theirs too without fulfilling their duties. Now, who is left wandering around in the predicament - the students.
Only in our dear country Nigeria will a course of 5 years will take 7 to 8 years or probably more before you finally graduate and serve, coming out to look for job, but how can you get it with the policy of 5 years experience. FG and ASUU,their children hardly attend the institutions they work in ,if they don't study overseas ,then its private universities.
The few that will be where they work in, might be cousins and could always get academic assistance. Jeopardizing the future of the students, students making sacrifices with everything they have. FG and ASUU getting fat, going on vacations in exotic places.
What do they care when at the end of the month their salaries must surely comes in. Money released and the once not released no one knows were it is going into or what they do with it. Students with the age limit above 30s may no longer serve their dear nations because they are overdue due to strikes.
Female students jump into early marriage maybe because they were impregnated during the period of the strike, so to avoid the shame, marriage comes in.
Only if the FG and ASUU will start sacrificing and putting their selves in the poor masses shoes and the students first, but not students as a sacrificial lamb. This will only be the right steps.
