It's not quite long since the country experienced scarcity of petroleum products and also strike by some oil industries and related organizations. Though,the situation has been resolved but what happened in Onitsha city of Anambra state can be described as catastrophic.
It happened that around 2:00pm on Sunday when everyone must have gone to church,the disastrous event occurred taking lives. According to nearby road side sellers and passersby a tanker that was carrying fuel lost control may be due to one thing or the other and fell on ground.When it fell on the ground, residents around that place came to rescue some people who were near the scene of the accident.

Unfortunately for them,fuel being a highly inflammable substance exploded killing many people.The smoke emitted by explosion attracted many people to scene of the accident. According to report gotten about 29 cars were damaged.Those who died was about 64 excluding the injured ones. The executive governor of Anambra state Chief Willie Obiano came to that place to witness what has happened. Those who were injured were taken to the nearby hospital.
