Global Youth Forum advises Nigeria

04 December 2014, 18:27

As part of our proposed visit to liaised with all relevant stakeholders in preparation for the inauguration of the newly elected Excos of the Association, the Excos on 22nd November 2014 reviewed the political development in Nigeria.

The leadership of Global Association of West African Youths Gentle men of the press, Ladies and gentlemen. We welcome you to this press conference. the leadership of gloWAY is shocked and concerned with the turn of political events in Nigeria, and wonders why Nigeria which is supposed to set a standard of maturity and scrupulous disposition of issues for west African countries are plunged into this sociopolitical quagmire.

The world is watching the unfortunate power tussle in Nigeria and the integrity of West Africa is at stake, but how the country will manage it is also an issue of concern for all of us. we want to suggest to the government and citizens of Nigeria to resort to the rule of law when it comes to the disposition of the affairs of the country, to avoid a repeat of the recent political turmoil experienced in Burkina Faso.

Nigeria is the largest country in West Africa, the economy of this religion will be jeopardized by the resultant effects of any political turmoil in Nigeria. We are appealing to relevant stakeholders to exhibit elements of patriotism in managing the affairs of the country. They should also eschew any form of misconduct or violence when it comes to the disposition of their constitutional duties.

An amicable resolution by all stakeholders should not be jettisoned for whatsoever reason because that will determined the success of this transition period in Nigeria. It will be to the best interest of West Africa if the government of Nigeria have a successful transition as scheduled.

Thank you all for your support!
