Abuja - A major coup d’état seems to be in the offing, as major power brokers in the PDP pulled out of its national convention which was held on Saturday to form a parallel group.
Those who walked out mi- way into the PDP convention include Abdufatah Ahmed of Kwara, Muazu Aliyu of Niger, Musa Kwankwaso of Kano, Sule Lamido of Jigawa and Aliyu Wamakko of Sokoto States.
The aggrieved members immediately addressed a press conference at the Yar Adua Center Abuja to detail why they made the surprise move.
Other PDP heavyweights who were at the briefing included former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, erstwhile PDP chairman Abubakar Baraje and Gov. Murutala Nyako.
The ruling party has been bedeviled with problems since the Nigerian Government Forum election where Governor Amaechi trounced Gov. Jonah Jang the preferred candidate allegedly backed by PDP’s main caucus, made up of the President Goodluck Jonathan and PDP’s National Chairman, Bamanga Tukur.
