Group congratulates Akpabio on emergence as Senate Minority Leader

A foremost and reputable amalgamation of Non Governmental Organization, NGO, known as Coalition for Social Change has described as "a recognition of his selfless service to the nation, his state and the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), the emergence of former governor of Akwa Ibom state, Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio as the Minority Leader of the Senate".

In celebrating this national recognition, the group is set to host the Senator representing Akwa Ibom North West(Ikot Ekpene) Senatorial District in the National Assembly to a Thank You event which has been described as Mother of All Thank You receptions for his meritorious services to the state.

Speaking to newsmen on the event, in his office in Uyo, the National President of Coalition for Social Change, CSC, Mr Joseph Utin, disclosed that, his group comprising several NGO's convened and considered it wise and expedient to invite and honour Senator  Akpabio, who he said, is the Architect and visioner of what has been celebrated internationally as the Uncommon Transformation Programme, which engendered an unprecedented development of the state through infrastructural renaissance, massive road construction, urban renewal and redevelopment and rural transformation.

Mr Utin hinted that, his CSC was keen to fault the saying that, a prophet has honour except in his hometown by organizing a well-deserved and befitting Thank You event for Senator Akpabio for his spectacular and outstanding patriotic service for eight years as Governor of the state.

The National Leader of CSC said, all is set and plans have reached advanced stage for the grand finale of the celebration under the aegis of G7-15 Plus Million Thanks Reality Show which comes up on August 8 in Uyo the Akwa Ibom State Capital.

He revealed that, apart from the former governor who is expected to grace the event, other dignitaries including the Who-is -who in Akwa Ibom, captains of industry, political office holders led by His Excellency, Governor Udom Gabriel Emmanuel are all expected to attend the Grand Finale which promises to be something to remember. Mr Utin further added that, a whooping 15 Million is up for grabs in the event for eight lucky stars, and lots of consolation prizes for other contestants in the reality show as the State gathers to say a resounding Thank You to their illustrious son who has served them well and made them proud among the comity of states.

Explaining to newsmen the route to the Grand Finale, the Director of Media and Publicity for Coalition for Social Change, Mr Clement Warrie, said that,the activities leading to the climax. Of the G7-15 Plus Million Thanks Reality Show started three months back with lots of talented persons who made entries in the various categories including, dance, acting, poetry/recitation and singing, with several auditions and evictions that have built-up to the Grand finale for those who have made it to the crucial stage.

Mr Warrie therefore called on all the good people of the state to turn up and show love and appreciation to the former governor, adding that, in doing this, even the current governor will be encouraged to exceed expectations after taking off on a flying start, knowing that, his people will appreciate him at the end of his labour of love and service.
