We live in a super-fast age. The internet has shrunk the world dramatically and people are so interconnected. Multi-tasking is the order of the day as we struggle to fulfil our responsibilities to everyone in our lives: employers, parents, spouses, children, clients, etc. In this struggle too, we often forget to spare time for ourselves.
The stress level continues to build up until one day a major collapse may make us aware that in all these frenzied activity, we have forgotten to take care of one important thing - our health. As we spend days shuttling between hospital and home, subjecting our body to one test after another in the bid to find out what has gone wrong, we are forced to remember that health is wealth indeed.
In earlier days, life was very simple. people often walked everywhere, ate more food, did household chores, and enjoyped a healthy balance in life. Now we have cars and bikes to go around in, exciting varities of fast food eat, home appliances to reduce our chores and save time, even though the time that has been saved in this manner is now being spent off at the workplace. So, people do not have time to exercise which is essential for good health. As a result of lack of execrise, obesity, diabetes, heart attacks, strokes, hypertension, etc are often on the rise, even among the young. This has alarming implication for any nation; if the young are going to die or fall seroiusly sick in the most productive years of their life the contry's future looks very bleak indeed.
So, it is very necessary to keep fit and healthy. Parents must inculate this in children from an early age. Moderation in food habits, daily execrise, and work-life balance; can make a different to our health. A yearly health check-up after the age of forty is also very necessary, without good health we cannot work to be one of the most important priorities in our life.
WITHOUT GOOD HEALTH WE CANNOT WORK TO BE SELF-RELIANT SO GOOD HEALTH SHOULD BE ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT PRIORITIES IN OUR LIFE.
