I have a dream

08 October 2015, 19:04

I have a dream that one day, the church of Jesus Christ will be liberated from the slavery of denominationalism and live out the true meaning of its name.

I have a dream that one day, Christians will break beyond the incarceration of uniformity and transcend into the liberty of unity where denominationalism no longer robs us of our true essence to be the Light and Salt of the earth.

I have a dream that one day, people who are called by God’s name shall refrain from bigotry, discrimination and denominationalism where we seclude ourselves and conclude on others who are not under our denominational canopy.

The church is NOT a cult.

Most saddening is the fact that most heads of these various denominations propagate exclusive messages and foster dissenting cultures within their denominations. Am I against denominations? NO! I am against its abuse which is as a result of misconceptions and misunderstandings across the world. The answer lies here, that we need to understand the BIG difference between UNIFORMITY and UNITY.

That though we are many denominations, we are one body (of course God’s spirit in you bears witness with the spirit operating in any denomination whether they be of God or Not.)

I have a dream that one day, Pastors, Bishops and Ministers of God would desist from sowing seeds of discord amongst Christians simply because they are not members of their congregation (“… they are many that are not of this fold…”), lay down their dibs and preach righteousness.

I have a dream that one day, the church of Jesus Christ across the world who worship God in SPIRIT and TRUTH would be distinguished from cults and business enterprises operating under the guise of “church” with deceptive names and selfish mission statements.
