Stephen Keshi, Super Eagles coach, says the performance of the Super Eagles against the Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire in Kaduna on Saturday’s will determine whether or not home-based players will be used in future international matches. The teams are playing as part of a 2014 African Nations Championship qualifier.
Keshi was addressing the players after their last training on Friday.
The position of the coach may not be unconnected with the criticism that trailed the performance of the Super Eagles at the FIFA Confederations Cup in Brazil where eight home-based players made the cut.
Speaking exclusively to News24 Nigeria, Media officer of the team, Ben Alayia, said there are no injury worries ahead of the match, describing the mood in camp as very good.
The match is billed to take place at the Ahmadu Bello stadium in Kaduna.
