Meeting the outside world

11 February 2014, 15:55 Jibunor George Chuks.

I have come to discover that restriction, often turns out to be destructive than the good which the parents often intends to have, by placing the order in the house.

They place these orders in other to help keep their children's in intact.

So many parents go further to restrict their children from visiting even their family friends, or even a visit to community social gatherings or religious gatherings.

A question for all; can this help to bring up a child in the right way? This is a question for all. I have a story to share here. There was this beautiful young girl whose parents, provideed everything for her. They restricted all her friends from coming to see her, feeling they might corrupt her. At the age of 15, she got admission into the university.

She only spent a semester and she got pregnant, and she could not continue her studies. To her parents, she had brought disgrace.

She tells people that her parents never gave her time to see the “outside world". She said; I was over-protected from the things inside that could not hurt. Then, was left alone by my parents from the things that hurt in the world, outside. I felt like enjoying myself because I was no longer with my parents.

Hmmm- words of a poor little girl. Who is to be blamed in this situation? Well, let's not blame but rather try very hard in other not to allow such a story to be told about our family. God bless us.
