Memories of sundown

16 February 2015, 11:48

Pupils fixed, the stare of the dead

A rounded figure, my heart gave a pound

My mind, thoughts of tango lead

Of one my life-force lost but found. Like nations she is one but diverse

Her smile, the sun in residence

With her, the dumb converse

The wise takes folly in prudence

Eyelids flutter, the wings of a butterfly

One glance and tiredness finds unrivalled strength

The soul rejoices, the heart utters a cry

A member wary of sleep, grows in length

A noisy air of hostile competition

All wanting to claim the prize

In mind and at hand, a copy of propositions

Faster than the rocket, her value rise

"You're annoying", she says

My timid soul can't help but agree

Still I boast not to love, you praise??

I know for her love I long with greed

Tired of the wildfire

She befriends herself

All in for her heart's desire

Odds, fears..I keep to myself

One day, the cat out of the bag

With thoughts lay I

Comparable to a rag

My esteem, on that road plies

A thin line between love and hate

Our emotions, at loggerheads

In anger, slammed shut the heart's gate

It pleads and profusely bleed

Taking the role of the dumb

In hate, we found enlightenment

Our hearts, back and plump

Saying sorry, that was not what I meant!!
