When Keshi's contract expired after the confederation's cup, he made it obvious that he will be joining South Africa. They had a better contract and working conditions on the table for him. From feelers, it was double what Nigeria was paying him. The NFF, in what they know how to do best was able to persuade Keshi to take the country to Brazil. Out of patriotism, Keshi abandoned such offer.

He even had an offer from a Kenyan club for around N12 million but he still rejected it for the love of working for his fatherland. What did he get for all his patriotism? In case you don't know, please allow me to tell you. After taking Nigeria to Brazil and came back in the second round with a not-too-bad performance, he was not rewarded with the promised contract. Have we also forgot about the good performance Nigeria got in the confed cup, it was courtesy of Keshi.
How about winning the nations cup after about two decades? Now how well do you think Keshi will function without the promised or agreed contract as you may like to say? That he asked for N7 million was too much for NFF to agree with him? Ok, NFF paid Lars Largerback about N45,000,000 monthly for a first round exit in SA 2010 with only 1 point. NFF paid a clueless Berti Vogts N15,000,000 for him to achieve nothing. Why is N7 million too much for NFF to a patriotic Nigerian but N45 million was paid to some clueless Europeans who actually knew nothing about Nigerian football. Oh Nigeria!!!
