Only you can "do" it

08 July 2014, 10:10 Martin Beck Nworah

I have been without my writing mojo for quite sometime now and my own silence is really killing me. I summoned strength to slowly write about this and I hope it will help me get better.

I suddenly grew lurk worm and was deeply involved with projects that had many beginnings and no end. My mind wrestled with my body and I really had no one who could constructively give me the answers I needed to fill up the gap (all thanks to my partying folks). I sought solace in motivational talks and articles but the solution didn't really crop up. It even revealed to me that those inspirational speakers (like some pastors) are hustlers as well, trying hard to make a living while portraying a larger than life personality...hehehehehe. I laughed and sighed in-between;only if someone out there had the solution to talk me into regaining my mojo.

None was forth coming.

So sitting at my desk this afternoon I took the decision to be my own source of inspiration. I made up my mind to find meaning in a meaningless world. It was at this point I told myself that my mojo is mine alone and nobody can help me regain it. It was a personal journey and like the alchemist said;it begins with beginner's luck and ends with the traveller being severely challenged, tested and tempted to quit.

At this point of my life, I know there's no turning back. I have been doing this since 2011 and the results continue to improve and get better. I thank God for the gift of grace and I know we all need to comprehend that we owe it to ourselves to be better in life. Nobody can do it for you...that's the truth. People in your life will help you. Your family(thank God for family), positive friends and well-meaning individuals will show you the way. But for the journey, you have to undertake that voyage on your own. Like Robert Frost said;the road less travelled is filled with thorns...it is left for you to keep the faith because it is the road that will lead you to fulfilment.

At this juncture (or roundabout if you wish) ladies and gentlemen, I have reached a point of no return. I am currently migrating to the next phase of my life and career. Many friends will be dropped and many new networks will be created. This is the point where I am taking the decision to be really me and mean business. I am running this race of life and I know to be relevant, you need to be your own inspiration. If you shed tears and nobody helps to clean your eyes (thank God I have many that will help me), clean yours and get busy. The world is harsh I know, but people are still succeeding. There's no room for excuses ladies and gentlemen, the world has no room for failures and near wins. We celebrate SUCCESS stories around here. So get busy!

My name is Martin Beck Nworah and I am citizen of Nigeria. I write for fun and I hope you will make meaning out of my rantings. I have a new campus book project that will make the blind see and make the deaf laugh. Once my Chinese friends give me the go ahead, you'll see it in front of your door.

Till we get to the Promised Land,I shall be waiting for when you will pass me a glass of water and thank God for the gift of grace for the race.
