Should we fear God?

01 September 2014, 12:41 Onyeji Dominic

I do not have to tell anybody that I am a scholar of Bible. What I know is that the Word is great in wisdom, and the term "wisdom is both in positive and negative. I mean I am not a custodian of Bible but I have sound knowledge of it. I know what is written in it. If we ask me, I will say that diplomacy is good in wisdom but the wisdom is a big liar because diplomacy is synonymous to both lie and deceit.

That is by the way! What I actually have to say here is that God and Lord are described as one in Bible, and the scriptures commanded us to fear the divine personality. Why? I mean I need someone to give an answer here.

I have to ask because insight told the wise that fear and love are not friends at all. If we fear the Lord, it means the he is not loving, friendly and kind to us. A good lord does not require anybody to fear him because he is loving in kind.

So, let us use our tongues to count our teeth. I do not really have to quote any verse of the Bible to us here because majority of us is Christian who claims to know God and his words. We know where it was written that God shall cast one into everlasting hell if one fails to fear him. I mean Bible requires us to fear God. Why?
