The Federal Government of Nigeria is chasing shadow at the expense of the 'nitty-gritty' of the Ogonis and indeed Nigerians with their political gimmicks.
How on earth is it justifiable that some unscrupulous elements whose despicable agitations are and were driven by their selfish desires trampled on the collective and intelligent psyches of the Niger-Deltans and indeed Nigerians. Yet, Federal Government went ahead with negotiations and lopsided integration and incorporation without recourse to the needs and demands of the Ogonis and other marginalized Nigerians.
These Rebels that called themselves "Freedom Fighters" which to me were been propelled by their selves centered ambitions were integrated and incorporated by the FG during the so called amnesty programme while the Boko Haram are on the other side. The real "Freedom Fighters" to me are: Martin Luther King Jnr. of the United States of America, Nelson Mandela the Madiba of South Africa and back home in Nigeria is in memory of the indefatigable Kenule Saro Wiwa to name few.
The afore-mentioned rare men never thought of arms struggle as the last resort. Those recalcitrant fellows hide under the auspices of Niger-Delta struggle and Islamic sentiment(s) to wage war against their country, destroyed properties, as if that was not enough, kidnapped and above all, killed many innocent souls that are their fellow Nigerians with impunity.
Inspite of all these despicable and nefarious men inhumanities to their fellow humans yet, they were indeed congratulated by the FG and subsequently compensated for jobs wrong done. I want everyOne to note that "a leopard can not change its spot" because "once a thief has always being a thief". Questions: Has the amnesty programme solved the Niger Delta problems? What about the Ogoni over due struggle that never resorted to arms as the way forward, don't they deserve to be integrated and incorporated?
The FG and Nigerians should know also that the educated speech speaks volumes with indelible sounds that transcend beyond bounds than the transient blasts of dynamite and grenade.
I also do know that pen weight mightier than the general purpose machine guns and the AK 47 riffles used by those Boko Haram and the ex Militants.
Time they say heals wound and sorrow!
