The Idomas in Benue deserve better treatment

25 November 2013, 09:56

God has endowered this nation with supplus gifts and planted a base of talented persons in Benue, the likes of 2face Idibia, Bongos Ikwue, Terry G and the rest are Benue sons and Idoma to be precise.

The irony of it all is that most of her inhabitants at present especially in Idoma land has yet to discover themselves and as such becomes victims of the wild circumstances sorrounding them. Take for example.

Almost every youth in this land was of recent in makurdi trying to submit his/her credentials to the ministry of information in expectation for a job the government cannot even guaranteed them. A state where civil servants beg and struggle to survive due to non payment of salaries. A state that depends on the federal government for almost everything.

How long can we wait in this despair, penury, destitution and anguish. Ayi'doma (Idoma youths) lets arise to the challenge that awaits us and become creative, hardworking and stay consistent in the search for greatness. Its time to change our approach towards the way we reason, live and spend every resources at our disposals. How many shops in this land are owned by Idoma youths? As for the Idoma youth in big cities, are you far more better than an average Igbo man that resides in your villiage? We can not be born great but live like slaves!.

As for those developing other peoples land, can you return back home with any of such assets? Lets be wise. Its high time we take the bull by the horn and get something out of the worst. As for me, i refuse to be a slave to another man haven been blessed and empowered by God this far. Just Like 2face and 9ice said in the song 'Street Credibility' ENYI LE NYA È! (Its a new dawn), so lets wake up to that challenge and make the most out of it and enjoy the serenity that lurks withing this blessed society of ours. Our home should be a place of rest and enjoyment for ourselves.
