The giant I know

28 October 2014, 08:12

I heard of a giant, so strong and stout Standing like a boabab tree during the storm
Unshaken by the wind in the windy days
Reliable and dependable in the wintry days I heard of a giant so tough and brave
His power is marchless so it was rumoured
His equal never exists among the black nations
Unrivalled in wealth and minerals galore
But the Giant I know is so weak and pathetic
That his land was snatched from him in Bakassi
His children are wretched beyond description Inspite of their father's minerals and stupendeous wealth
The giant I know is so powerless
That his children are killed under his nose
Some murdered in Buma, some in Bornu Some massacred in Yanyan by a group of lulliputans
The giant I know is worse than a weakling Hapless
In the face of trivial challenges Indecisive when decision- making is required
Too lethergic to defend himself
The giant I know has some little daughters
Abducted and caged like birds in Sambisa
So tired to search, so tired to fight
The giant I know invited other giants
To help him fight his enemies and bring back his daughters
Can't he justify his name for once?
