Over three months ago, a state of emergency was declared in three northern states by the federal government.
This was due to the high rate of the activities by Boko Haram. Hundreds of lives were lost, properties worth millions of naira destroyed.
Since the state of emergency was declared in those three states, Adamawa, Borno and Yobe, one can ask how the lives of those people living in those areas has improved? Has the killings stopped? Last two or three weeks ago the senates approved the extension of the state of emergency which was proposed by the federal government by adding three more months.
Now, how long can the soldiers stand on the streets of those affected states?. Since the declaration of state of emergency, bombing has not stopped but only reduced if we must tell ourselves the truth.
Months after, Shekau was believed to be dead, a live video of him was displayed proving that he is still alive. Who are we to believe my dear people! Our soldiers (JTF), did not have proof, but claimed that he is dead, but the group claimed their leader is still alive?
Is Boko Haram more than the entire Nigerian armed forces? No I don't think so, but what are they not telling us. Can I say that they have not checked and searched every villages, camps, towns, cities! And yet this people are still in the shores of this country? What is the solution to this insecurity? God help us.
