The unforgiving man

21 January 2014, 13:47 Jibunor George Chuks

I wonder why humans beings claims to say that they are made out of likeness and image of God. In a real sense its a practical truth but this has not really worked out well for us mankind.

Every now and then, we do great atrocities but yet when we go on our knees and ask God for forgiveness, yet He forgave's us. But to our fellow men, reverse is the case.

I have a life touching story which I can share with you. There was a man from one neighboring town, living with his lovely wife and family. One day, he had a rumor that his wife was having an affair with someone else outside.

He laid an underground investigations and later on it was confirmed to be true that the wife was cheating on him. On a fateful afternoon, the wife went out, for him, he thought the wife has gone to the usual place for merriment, fun and enjoyment.

He brought out his double barrel(gun) and cleaned it, waiting in his corridors upstairs for his lovely wife. Here comes his darling wife, as she opens the gate, a gun shot was released and the wife was lying on the floor, then he fired the second shot and he was found lying on the floor too.

Two gun shots from one man using it to kill two people, his wife and himself, hmm bizarre.

From this story, I want to ask could it be that there was no other way of solving this agonizing issue rather than shooting himself and the wife, forgetting he has children who now became orphans because of his unforgiving spirit.

Forgiveness releases you from anger and from shackles of pains and sets you free for a new beginning.

Channeling this to the stage at which we are in Nigeria. We need better understanding from one another, if we must move forward and a spirit of asking for forgiveness when we offend each other, and a forgiving heart too.

This is the key we need to use to unlock Nigeria if we must move to next level.
