There are still good people in Nigeria

04 December 2013, 10:41 Chuks Jibunor

On a hot afternoon on tuesday, 3rd of november, 2013. I personally witnessed an incident that took place just closed to my house. I am supposed to have send it to this news house as a breaking news/story because i was at the scene at the very moment that the incident occurred. But i had a second thought, i was moved by the drama that took place at the scene of the incident.

So i believed writing it as an article could be the best way to have fully expressed the incident because it was touchy and passionate. Here the story: A very well known stubborn man who usually parks his car at any angle that he feels he can park outside his compound, not minding  if his car does obstruct others or not. Even the leg users at the street complains of the lack of consideration from the man especially when it rains.

Because the only little dry part where leg users could pass is or could be the most likely place for him to park his red sienna car. Passerby's could heap courses on him but that is not his concern, after all his car is parked on his frontage. Many has on several occasions condemned his nonchalant attitude towards their complains. Not until this faithful tuesday afternoon, he parked his car and entered inside his apartment.

On coming out, his car was already with flames of fire and smokes everywhere. He couldn't believe it, then he started crying out loud saying “somebody help me o, help me with fire extinguisher o, running up and down, crying”. Drama and epitome of love was the display from the neighbors and the passerby. Those driving were not left out of this, for everyone was found jumping out of their cars in other to assist to put off the fire. I was moved by this display from the general public, it was a total practical display of pure love for one another. If this love that i witnessed today could be extended and practiced by everyone in this country Nigeria, then i believe this country will be a better place.

No 1 lesson, although with the attitude of this man, still his neighbors was seeing running heck ta skater in other to help put off the fire.

No 2 lesson, car owners should know properly what they need to have always in their possessions in other to be able to solve such situations at a moment that it might occur. Because i do believe that the man was not having fire extinguisher in his car at the time of the incident.

Finally, forgiveness and love is the key factor of what i witnessed. We need to give those that has offended us a second chance, even our governments needs a  second chance, everyone needs a second chance. God gives us millions of chance every now and then, so why not give others. Love and forgiveness can move this country because i know we still have good people in this country. God bless us.
