We all watched the drama that played out in the just concluded PDP National Convention where IBB, OBJ, Abdulsalami and their cohorts used their foot soldiers to cause consternation on the President. Even a day's chick can decipher the source of that show of shame, and why Atiku also opted to spearhead the gang.
First question: why are they all scared of Goodluck contesting in 2015 if truly he's a small fly as many thinks? He is clueless, tactless and visionless why not win him at the polls than trying to put a gag on him even before the real contest? Conspicuously, they're all scared of his heroic achievements that will forever remain indelible in the hearts of Nigerians tomorrow.
Now, are Nigerians also surprised that OBJ rushed to the Villa (Aso Rock) to worship the next day? Do you think OBJ is not up to some mischief? It is simple; he'd visited the President (GEJ) to know what his (the President) plans are so as to help him (OBJ) and his bandwagon to restrategise on the next step of attack. This hoodwinking strategy by OBJ is well known to many of us, I guess Mr.President even knows better.
Thing is, Nigerians tends to forget that none of these men (OBJ and the seven or seventy renegade Governors) can win any election in this county if the PDP hadn't given them the opportunity in the first place. Ask yourself, how many of these Governors were the people's choice in 2007 or 2011? These men begged and some of them even killed to be made flag-bearers of the party (PDP), but today they're claiming and deceiving people not to love and respect the party anymore. Who's fooling who? What happened to Atiku and OBJ in 2003 and 2007? How did the today's ACN came on board? Why did Atiku defected back to the PDP he called all sorts of names when the party refused to give him the flag? This has been his strategy, this is how Atiku remains relevant in the polity.
Truth is, it discombobulates me that Nigerians especially young people still claim oblivion to the facts about these men (OBJ, Atiku and the renegade Governors). Yet, they're busy basking in the euphoria of the deceit, conceit and defeat in the name of being obsequious to a failed faction led by failed old soldiers using them (young people) as baits. What is truly wrong with us (young people)?
Howbeit, the job seekers and witch hunters surrounding the President have caused more harm than good to the man, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. This is because; a chunk of them lacked tact, depth and are totally bereft of ideas just like his wife's media handlers and aides. If not, none of these men have led this Country (even when they were one time this and that) creditably well like GEJ has done in the midst of all the "Harams and Halals".
Find out this fact without sentiment. The President's (GEJ) worst enemies are his men, especially his failed media team (Reno, Okukpe, Abati and Maku). How I'm I not sure they're not even closely knitted into one, as in, working in tandem with the opposition? They're always in the defensive even when they hold all the aces. These men are rather reactionary, replace them or send them away. They are Goodluck's problem (if at all he has issues).
Check out how much damage Oyinlola caused to the treasury of Osun State before he left. Who's Baraje, does that name sound credible? Should I take someone like Atiku seriously? Are these the new wine we now have in the new bottle to take us to Uhuru? Where is our thinking caps as young progressives?
Well, I have always disapproved of the ongoing war in the party (PDP), especially as it affects my State (SREVIR State, sorry, Rivers State). But, parties (all factions) should learn to sheathe swords than always taking each other to the cleaners. All the President should do is; step up his game and deliver more on his promises to Nigerians, surely he is the best we've had as President and commander-in-chief since Lugard and Flora Shaw code-named us Nigeria.
After all, amongst these men who's better than Goodluck, sincerely? The man (GEJ) is poorly advertised and wickedly criticised even by those he feeds daily. 2015 is not about the OIL alone, it is all about who is more credible amongst the contenders.
I ask again, who is better than GEJ amongst the lions that have all caused executive purloin when they were at the top? Please, let's all have introspection and internalise these lines. Yes, I agree, 2015 must not be GEJ, but must not and can never be Buhari, IBB, any of the renegade Governors or an opportunists.
Don't be deceived, Nigeria will not disintegrate in 2015 because of GEJ's re-election.
