We will support government that is beneficial to students

21 November 2014, 20:29 Wale Bakare

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) from the office of the Vice President External Affairs, Com. Ogunkuade Oluwatosin has organized a press conference to celebrate the international students day.

Com. Ogunkuade speaking at the conference said “ NANS under the office of the VP external is an apostle of justice in the temple of peace and orderliness, we will re orientate and re engineering the mentality of Nigerian students to expand their views and improve students interaction through; organizing international seminars and conferences, exchange programmes and diplomatic mission, building strong relationship with Nigerian students at home and diaspora, encouraging participation in international academics competition, pursuing B.SC/HND dichotomy bill at the National Assemble relating it with international standard, JAMB Computer Based Test (CBT) a need for re modification and also international campaign against attack on Nigerian students by terrorists.

He added that, we condemn in totality the attacks on Nigeria schools which have been shedding the blood of innocent students such as: recent attack that led to death of 49 students in Potiskum, Yobe, the incompetence of the federal government to bring back the missing  Chibok girls since the last 6 months, Mubi attack that led to the death of many children, closure of Nigerian traders shops in Ghana which affected over 70,000 Nigeria students schooling in Ghana and also hike in school fees in Nigeria tertiary institution.”

The era of gangsterism and hooliganism as gone in NANS, this is an era of scientific aluta with diplomacy because today NANS executives are; reformers and a student leaders with foresight to make Nigeria great through Nigerian students. “

I acknowledge the amiable leadership of Alhaji (Dr.) Abdulfatai Ahmed, Governor of Kwara State for the establishment of professional vocational center for youth and students. We charge his administration to expedite actions on proposed scholarship for students because we will support government activities that are beneficiary to students. Long live Nigerian students! Long live Kwara state!! Long live Nigeria!!!
