What's up with all these degrees?

03 February 2015, 10:45 Jibunor George Chuks.

Nigeria, a good country with so much potential. But yet little of all these persons with potentials practice what they claimed to have studied! Now, let me ask; what are the criteria of given doctorate degrees? Even religious men and women wants to have all these titles! I ask again, to what means? Check this out now; have seen a man who studied agriculture after that he did his masters and later then he did his doctorate degree and he was awarded the degree of Phd in agricultural science.

Can you imagine that this man as a professor in agriculture don't even have a common garden? Don't get me wrong, I used common although not all common things are common to some persons, but I used that term because garden supposed to be common to a man who has read so well and he is now a professor in that field. I can only wonder if he truly worked for that. Many of them in the universities as professors but yet they cannot even deliver a single lecture for people to understand. What is the root of all this, I say this because our educational system in this country is not well planned at all. Graduates in chemical engineering, working in the banks as cashiers, so disheartened. Where do we go from here because there are so many things yet to be considered in our dear country. God bless.
