Where are the Nation builders (Part 3)

05 November 2012, 09:40

For those who read through my last piece carrying the same topic, thank you for taking out time to read and for those who haven’t, this is a continuation of my last write up and will be glad if you could take out time to read so you can have a smooth sail even as we continue this week. Thank you in anticipation.

With Love and Strenght and Faith: It is LOVE for one’s Nation that will cause its citizens to be involved in Nation building rather than seek a ‘greener pasture’ elsewhere. Truth is the grass is always green on the other side which means not all that have gone for the greener pasture actually found it green. This is why we find a whole lot of Nigerians abroad doing menial jobs they can’t even boast of. My question is always ‘Why don’t you just swallow your pride and come home so we can all build this country and make it a safe haven for you and I’ Why must we continually expend all our youthful exuberance making another country greater whilst leaving our own to deteriorate? To be sincere, no one loves a country better than its citizens. Any foreigner who claims better love for this country than its citizens is only looking at the benefits involved.

STRENGTH refers to our vigour, agility and the energy synonymous with the youths who are supposed to be the nation builders. The best time to serve our fatherland is when we have it all at our disposal. This is when we are meant to use our intellect, strength and what have you in the involvement of nation building. This is also when the youth is best positioned to serve. Physical, intellectual and social strength couldn’t be more available to influence, drive and reshape the country, positioning it for greatness.

FAITH in a workable process, absolute believe that the old order of things could be replaced with a dynamic and enviable system are all we need to make our beloved country the cynosure of all eyes. The mindset that hard work and integrity pays needs to be restored and we need to believe in ourselves before we can pass the message of faith across to others.

The Labour of our heroes past shall never be in vain: We all never pray that out labour will be in vain. For once, has it ever occurred to us that our inaction of watching things deteriorate whilst looking the other way is tantamount to watch our past heroes’ efforts at independence go in vain? If some people hard fought to ensure we got independent, my dear patriots I think it is only normal for us as nation builders to fight in ensuring we restore our dear beloved country, Nigeria to a place of dignity and glory that used to be synonymous with that name. That way the labour of our past heroes will not be said to be in vain. Synonymously, we will also be writing our names in the heart of all Nigerians including the ones unborn as such a great effort at re-building the Nation will never go unnoticed.

I will keep playing my role......Will you?
