Dear patriots, as we revisit the topic above once again, let us take a closer look at our song, our creed and our pride: The National anthem. What does the National Anthem of Nigeria mean to you? Do you know it by heart? The national anthem is well positioned to bind us together in unity.
Our National anthem couldn’t have meant more to the patriotic Nation builders because therein lies the true clarion call. I often wonder how comfortable some of our leaders are about not being able to clearly recite our National anthem. More often than not, I have witnessed where they asked a nominated public official to recite our National anthem but could not. The amazing part is that I have never seen anyone of them become sober afterwards, little wonder they rule us instead of leading us.
If we are ever going to be different from these people who derive joy in plundering our commonwealth, then we must sing the National anthem and let the anthem sing back to us: Meaning we will not only sing it but also allow its words sink deep into us with a resolve to live the message it carries. Join me on this ride through our pride and our anthem even as we take a cursory insight into the depth of this clarion call.
ARISE, O COMPATRIOTS: This is a call to wake us all up from our slumber, a call to arise and take our National pride as no one will uphold our heritage other than us the citizens. The only reason we have not taken our rightful place in the world is because we have refused to arise and take up our National pride. We all need to heed this call by taking a conscious and determined effort. We must strive to restore Nigeria back to its glorious days. No other time will be better to heed this clarion call...The time is NOW
NIGERIA’S CALL OBEY: The call for obedience is a way forward for us as citizens; respect for the rule of law is paramount in any Nation building. How many of us realise that a nation begins and is sustained with the patriotism of the citizenry. This must begin with our commitment to taking responsibility and ownership. This call means a whole lot to any citizen who is focussed on building our nation. Our Nation calls for us to stand up to and counted as patriots.....Are you ready?
TO SERVE OUR FATHERLAND: Service to our fatherland is the greatest obligation we owe ourselves and generation unborn. In this lies true joy and fulfilment in the fact that we heeded the call to serve. Aside that, posterity will judge us well for possessing the heart of gold capable of helping nation building. No one will build our nation if we do not arise to render the services capable of taking Nigeria to its place of pride. Our Fatherland is our pride, no matter how far we travel or how long we take solace in the disapora, there can never be anywhere else like home.
